Cody Wollen

Cody Wollen has been developing innovative solutions since becoming an engineer in 1988. Starting at the Alberta Oil Sands Technology and Research Authority (AOSTRA) he worked on various joint industry research projects including drilling the world’s first commercial SAGD wells at the Underground Test Facility (UTF) project.

As the SAGD industry grew, Cody was involved in field trials, pilot projects, commercial development and corporate level technical assurance. Technical advances have involved steam, solvents, and chemical co-injection, electrical heating and workflow processes, including production monitoring and analysis, remote sensing technologies, field development design tools for full field – full life optimization, cap rock integrity, start-up, drilling and completions, and regulatory applications and compliance.

Cody is a P.Eng. in the Province of Alberta and is the inventor or co-inventor of 4 patents (pending) related to the efficient recovery of oil sands and heavy oil in a more efficient, effective and ecologically sensitive manner.
