Proton Technologies Receives $375,000 Research Grant from Natural Resources Canada’s Energy Innovation Program

Federal support for Engineering the Hygenerator will allow Proton Technologies to prepare for field tests.

After 8 months of intensive discussion and review by experts at Natural Resources, the Canadian government has elected to provide matching funds towards engineering Proton’s new down-hole membrane device for extracting pure Hydrogen directly from oil and gas reservoirs.

The Front End Engineering and Design (FEED) work will be the final step in preparing for a filed test and comprehensive Proof-of-Concept. The engineering challenges include making the device sufficiently flexible and robust to be inserted down wells into reservoirs and perform for long periods at extreme pressures and temperatures.
